Lines that hold upside down

  • Strength under range

Stack the shoulders so the lines have a base.

  • Locked legs

Like a ballet dancer: pointed feet, legs locked.

  • Split entries

Long lunge, long reach, into a split handstand.

Sound familiar?

  • All the range, not enough shoulder
  • Kicking up feels scary
  • Legs drift apart at the top
  • Acro classes are mostly for kids

In Ben’s words

Ben Lowrey started learning handstands in 2013, came to hand balancing through yoga and began teaching at the end of 2015.

“Lock your legs out like a ballet dancer, like a gymnast, pointed feet.”

“People with a dance background tend to find this easier because they're used to moving their limbs in elegant ways.”

Acro dance handstand questions

What happens after 30 November?

The founding price of £47 is for purchases made by the end of 30 November 2026, UK time. From 1 December 2026 the library costs £67. Buying at £47 gets you exactly the same access, and the same 14-day refund, as buying at £67.

Can adults learn acro dance?

The library teaches the handstand side: shoulders, line, shapes and entries. Your dance teacher teaches the acro choreography.

How do I keep my legs straight and together?

Ben's cue: lock your legs out like a ballet dancer, pointed feet. Tension makes the body easier to control.

I'm flexible but my handstand collapses. Why?

In Ben's view, flexible people often need more shoulder strength, not more range.

Is this for children's classes?

No. It's for adults (18+) practising themselves.

Why pay £47 when there are free videos?

The tutorials and drills are free. The library adds the full courses and a 12-week order.

Who it isn’t for

  • It is not a quick fix. There are no promised timelines: a handstand takes regular practice over time.
  • It is not live coaching. The library is recorded teaching, so nobody watches or corrects your form.
  • It is not for anyone a doctor or physiotherapist has told to avoid being upside down.
  • Ben says himself that the press to handstand is not right for every body.
