What carries over to the pole
Stacked shoulders
Shoulders to the ears, arms straight: the base of every handstand.
Performance shapes
Split, straddle and diamond, with locked legs and pointed feet.
Open what pole tightens
Ben's view: pulling tightens the shoulders. Open them first.

Most people's shoulders are restricted, especially aerialists, trapeze people, silks, climbers, pole dancers, anybody who's pulling their lats and their biceps are going to get buff.
Sound familiar?
- Too scared to kick up away from the pole
- You've been told to drill core for inverts
- No pole at home to practise on
- Your pole handstand arches

In Ben’s words
Ben Lowrey started learning handstands in 2013, came to hand balancing through yoga and began teaching at the end of 2015.
“For people that train pole, pole dance, you can use the pole.”
“Pole dancers particularly like this move because it looks nice from a performance standpoint.”
“Most people's shoulders are restricted, especially aerialists, trapeze people, silks, climbers, pole dancers, anybody who's pulling their lats and their biceps are going to get buff.”

Pole handstand questions
What happens after 30 November?
The founding price of £47 is for purchases made by the end of 30 November 2026, UK time. From 1 December 2026 the library costs £67. Buying at £47 gets you exactly the same access, and the same 14-day refund, as buying at £67.
Does a floor handstand help with pole handstands?
The shoulder work is the same: arms straight, shoulders to the ears, push the floor away. Ben also shows how pole dancers can use the pole for support.
I'm told inverts need core. Is that wrong?
Ben's view is that shoulders limit a floor handstand far more than core. Pole tricks like the human flag do need core, and he says so.
How do I train at home without a pole?
With a wall and a mat. The wall drills and the shapes need no pole at all.
What strength do I need for a shoulder mount?
The library doesn't teach the shoulder mount. It builds overhead shoulder strength and range that pole moves rely on.
Why pay £47 when there are free videos?
The tutorials and drills are free. The library adds the full courses and a 12-week order.

Who it isn’t for
- It is not a quick fix. There are no promised timelines: a handstand takes regular practice over time.
- It is not live coaching. The library is recorded teaching, so nobody watches or corrects your form.
- It is not for anyone a doctor or physiotherapist has told to avoid being upside down.
- Ben says himself that the press to handstand is not right for every body.
