For functional-fitness and box athletes
You're strong. Your handstand still wobbles.
Ben Lowrey on the shoulder line and centre of gravity that strength alone doesn't fix.
One short email a day for a week: a short film, a drill demo and one small thing to try, from Ben Lowrey. Free, for ages 18 and over.
Founding price £47 until 30 November 2026, then £67

Strong. Still wobbling?
- Strict work is fine, but the hold dies after a few seconds
- Your handstand walk falls forward after three steps
- Kick-ups use momentum and land you on the wall
- Tight shoulders won't stack over your hands

What strength doesn't fix
Stack the shoulders
Push the floor away until the shoulders open over the hands.
Long lunge, no momentum
Ben's entry: a long lunge and straight legs, not a throw at the wall.
Open tight shoulders
Ben's flexibility course is aimed at strength people.
Watch free previews
Elevate the shoulders (opposite of the yoga cue) and push as hard as you can; the wobble fades as the shoulders strengthen.

In Ben’s words
Ben Lowrey started learning handstands in 2013, came to hand balancing through yoga and began teaching at the end of 2015.
“It's not that they're not trying, it's not that they're not strong, it's not that they can't balance.”
“We're not trying to do a certain number of reps in a certain amount of time. None of that works for balance.”
“I don't want you to throw your momentum down at the ground. I want you to do a long lunge.”

Handstand questions from box athletes
What happens after 30 November?
The founding price of £47 is for purchases made by the end of 30 November 2026, UK time. From 1 December 2026 the library costs £67. Buying at £47 gets you exactly the same access, and the same 14-day refund, as buying at £67.
Does the library teach handstand walks or handstand push-ups?
No dedicated walk or HSPU lesson. It teaches what those skills sit on: the stacked shoulder line, wall-facing holds, kick-up control and balance.
Why do I fall forward when I try to walk on my hands?
Usually the shoulders are closed and the weight sits ahead of the hands. Ben's view is that it's the position, not effort or strength.
I'm strong. Why can't I hold a tuck?
In Ben's view, tight shoulders keep the centre of gravity off the hands. It isn't that strong people aren't trying; the position is the limit.
Can I train this alongside my WODs?
Yes. The drills are short. Ben's point is that balance doesn't respond to reps against a clock, so keep them out of the metcon.
Why pay £47 when there are free videos?
The tutorials and drills are free. The library adds the full courses, including a flexibility course for strength athletes, and a 12-week order.

Who it isn’t for
- It is not a quick fix. There are no promised timelines: a handstand takes regular practice over time.
- It is not live coaching. The library is recorded teaching, so nobody watches or corrects your form.
- It is not for anyone a doctor or physiotherapist has told to avoid being upside down.
- Ben says himself that the press to handstand is not right for every body.
