Sound familiar?
- Your bananeira is a throw, then hope
- It falls when you look at the other player
- Your aú is great on one side only
- Wrists ache after a long roda

In Ben’s words
Ben Lowrey started learning handstands in 2013, came to hand balancing through yoga and began teaching at the end of 2015.
“The third thing is we're going to maintain an attitude of playfulness and experimentation.”
“Don't worry too much about the form, where your feet are going. Just try and have fun and the technique will take care of itself.”
“Push as hard as you can. That's really half the secret”

- “Capoeira is about flow.”
- Keep the flow. Add a handstand you can control inside it.

- The roda shows you what to practise. The library gives you a way to practise it.
Capoeira handstand questions
What happens after 30 November?
The founding price of £47 is for purchases made by the end of 30 November 2026, UK time. From 1 December 2026 the library costs £67. Buying at £47 gets you exactly the same access, and the same 14-day refund, as buying at £67.
What is the capoeira handstand called?
Bananeira. The library doesn't teach capoeira; it teaches the handstand technique under your bananeira and aú.
How do I learn bananeira at home?
With a wall: toe taps, holds, then entries away from it, plus the cartwheel tutorial for aú-style entries.
Can I do bananeira with bent legs?
In capoeira, yes. For the handstand itself, Ben teaches tucks and shapes that work with bent legs.
Will this replace my capoeira classes?
No. Your mestre teaches capoeira. This is handstand practice between classes.
Why pay £47 when there are free videos?
The tutorials and drills are free. The library adds the full courses and a 12-week order.

Who it isn’t for
- It is not a quick fix. There are no promised timelines: a handstand takes regular practice over time.
- It is not live coaching. The library is recorded teaching, so nobody watches or corrects your form.
- It is not for anyone a doctor or physiotherapist has told to avoid being upside down.
- Ben says himself that the press to handstand is not right for every body.
